Goathorn Point: Between Goathorn Pier and the cannel of “South Deep” there is an area with plenty of water for anchoring. There are four private moorings in an area to the east of the pier (be careful not to foul the ground chain of the moorings) the depth here is about 4 meters at high tide with the areas to the north of the pier raising up to 1.5 meters.

Make sure you keep the channel clear for the other harbour users and the passenger vessels that pass through here every half an hour. The edge of the channel is marked by red and green lateral marks but there is another channel marked within this channel marked by red and green buoys which denotes the are to be kept clear for the continuous flow of the harbour traffic.
